Initially, Distinctive Spaces was contracted to supply and install their beautiful planting products into the existing offices, based in Sandton. Once the Managing Director had mentioned that Distinctive Spaces also had an In-House Interior Designer, Dentsu decided that space planning was needed for 4 of their departments, namely John Brown, iProspect, Fox P2 and Carat. So the designer was tasked with space planning and redesigning 500sqm’s of space, departmental repositioning and separation into private space.
The project deadline was tight – with only 2 weeks for design and approval before commencement of physical construction work. Needing approval from all departments meant that the designer needed to be in constant contact with all department heads to discuss their changes, needs and “nice to haves”.
The Distinctive Spaces team managed everything from start to finish, including all communication with landlord and council submissions for occupancy certificates and fire regulations.
Once they had received final approval and go ahead – they had 5 days to get ready for the kick off date. They only had 5 days to complete the entire project build which included demolition of 200sqm of existing walling, new glass partitioning, flooring, painting, wallpapers, and space planning.
Adding in Distinctive Spaces touches here and there with some beautiful Instagreen cladding to columns and adding a vibrance and upliftment to the space.
Dentsu was so impressed with the turn around as well as the attention to detail, making re-use of materials that could be reused, lighting fixtures repurposed into other spaces and ensuring that nothing effected the overall walk through flow of the space.
