This Durban based client approached us for a new project in Midrand Johannesburg and to look at the revamps of the Kwazulu Natal existing hotels. They all play in the 3 star space but the offering is clean and modern for the corporate market.
For the new Midrand build, we were involved on a consultancy basis for the rooms but the public areas we did full turnkey. Reception area needed clean lines with a bit of bling in the wall paper. The lounge area needed to be practical and modern with a bar and pool deck leading off it. Then the dining area upstairs needed to fit enough tables and seats to match the Hotel capacity.
The next project was the revamp of the Downtown Durban hotel. This structure had “good bones’ but was in desperate need of modernization. Here we did great concepts for a beachfront look and feel for the public area. The rooms we standardized in the same look and feel as the new Midrand one. This project was done in 2 stages, all bedrooms/bathrooms done per floor and then the public areas later.
